Do you rely on ultrasn0w for unlock???

Save your 4.3.1 blob with iFaith - that should allow you to "restore a clean 4.3.1"
Other than that, if you haven't ever saved a SHSH blob, now is a good time to start this excellent habit.

Otherwise, with only a 4.3.1 and 4.3.5 SHSH blob, you should stay with 4.3.1 if you want to jailbreak.

First you need to find out what SHSH blobs you have access to. As I said before you can obtain a 4.3.1 partial blob and a 4.3.5 full blob.
What you really want is a 4.3.3 SHSH blob, but Apple has stopped giving these out. So the only chance you have for a 4.3.3 blob is if already tried to request a SHSH blob (at least a few weeks ago via TinyUmbrella or Cydia)

Every device (that can detect power via the USB cable) can go into DFU mode, it's built into the hardware. Either you have faulty hardware or you are doing it wrong (your timing is incorrect)

Well that is a bit of an unusual list of saved SHSH blobs (but not impossible)

No you can NEVER restore to 4.2.1 again without a 4.2.1 SHSH blob

As you have a 4.3.3 SHSH blob that is your best option.

You need to use custom IPSW made with pwnagetool 4.3.3.1 or sn0wbreeze (the latest version) to restore (not update) to 4.3.3 - there are guides on iClarified, go and search for them - then set your phone up as new.
Unless you take extra precautions to back up your data prior to attempting this, you WILL lose all your data on the phone. However, setting up your phone as new is the ONLY reliable way of eliminating "extra junk" that could be responsible for poor battery life or slow performance.

The backup/restore process is mostly manual and you should restore ONLY the files you absolutely need.
