These require a new exploit that has not been revealed yet. Use Spirit for now and wait until the new exploit is developed into a jailbreak and released. This could take as long as until September.

When you write use Spirit for now, do you mean stay on 3.1.3 jailbroken with Spirit (may be until September) ; or are you implying that 4.0 can be jailbroken with Spirit?

Will that exploit work if you have updated to stock 4.0GM anyway?

I have tried to follow the instructions to update to 4.0 using the Pwnage tool. 3.1.5, iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.

I have copied the Bundle files and updated the cydia copied from Redsn0w

I was updating from 3.1.2 on BB 5.11.07

Everything works fine, but when it re-boots it tells me to insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone.

I was previously JB and Unlocked using BlackSn0w

Any of you guy had this and figured what's wrong?

if you were reliant on unlock you werent supposed to upgrade to 4.0 afaik.

Ok I may of been too quick on the trigger finger!

So to clarify if I insert a official SIM to activate, as I can quickly borrow one from someone in the office, will I be able to unlock using the BlackSn0w and then revert to the SIM i have been using?

That's correct, as far as I'm aware. You need to use the patched blacksn0w though, posted previously in the thread. Latest official will cause problems or not work.

I was a good boy and have 4.26.08 baseband with 3.1.2 and ulrtrsn0w
Now let's assume I make a custom 4.0 Ipsw
I'm assuming I will stay with this baseband (4.26)
Now my question is is there any way to unlock from here (ultransn0w? Some way to upg bb to 5.11.07)
