i just did one but dowgraded to 3.1.3 as i did not have the ssh with saurik.

afte the restore phone will be stuck in restore mode with error 1015.

all i did was run blackrain and as soon as the phone turned off for the recovery more i unpluged the usb and than just turn it on and it worked fine.

Yes it is possible to go down to 3.1.2 and jailbreak as long as you have your ssh stored with Saurik.

I have done it a couple of times now and everything works perfectly, even with the new baseband.

Your problem is a common problem, it happened to me the first time I did it, you need to activate your phone before jailbreaking. There are a number of tutorials out there that will work. Basically you need iRecovery to boot your phone out of recovery mode after you have restored to 3.1.2 (when you get the 1015 error). The run your preferred jailbreak software.

Just type 'no signal after downgrading to 3.1.2' in google and it will take you to the solution, or PM me and I'll send you the tutorial.

Hey, thanks for your heads up!
I didn't think of using another program to quit recovery mode..
Will do it once I got home!
