05.12.01 and iOS4

I have a 3GS running 3.13 with 05.12.01 and wanted to upgrade to iOS4 but I keep seeing how people able to unlock the phone with iOS4, but I haven't heard anything about the configuration that I have. Can anyone confirm that I can upgrade to iOS4 and unlock the phone even though I was running 3.13 with 05.12.01? Thank you very much in advance!!

I think you should hold off to any updates until all tools are proven to work flawlessly, as stated here

I'm now reading that people who used Spirit to JB initially will have problems? I did use Spirit and am trying to do a "restore" inside iTunes, but it just goes into a loop. I had to use iRecovery in order to take it out of loop. Is anyone else experiencing this? Do I have a bunk iphone?

I installed ultrasn0w, but i still can't upgrade to iOS4...it says like "Panic OS, kernel"...something like that

Spirit is not compatible with iTunes 9.2 (new jailbreaks) or with iOS 4. It might be fixed - depending on how many holes Apple has closed.

There will be solutions, you need to wait for lower level vulnerabilities to be revealed.

If you have a SHSH for 3.1.2 backed up and old bootrom 3GS - you can go to iOS 4.0 on a 3GS

i am on 3.1.3 with 05.12.01 baseband, jailbroken and unlocked. what if I install a custom 4.0 firmware which wont alter the BB and is already hacktivated?

if this wasnt my only phone, i would have gone ahead and gave this route a shot

Do you have a 3GS or 3G? If it is a 3GS - do you have old or new bootrom?
How did you jailbreak 3.1.3? Spirit, redsn0w, pwnagetool?
