    Default youtube or syncing

well this what i have noticed in 3.0...i restored my phone to 3.0 beta 2 from 2.2.1 and first i restored from a back up.. everything seemed to work syncing however youtube did not work... so i restore my phone again and did not restore a back.. i set it up as a new phone.. and youtube worked.. syncing applications worked..all kinds of syncing worked except for syncing songs.. it shows that the songs are transfering.. but after all the songs are transferred it just keeps on saying syncing for HOURS and i left it like that for about an hour and it kept on doing so then i just cancelled sync.. restored my phone 2 more times and its still doing that..
    any help??

update guys...restored my phone one more time.. restored the old back up ... youtube not working again which was anticipated.. however to save time i only checked 1 playlist to sync which has around 600 songs and after it was done syncing it took around 15 mins to finish... tonight when i get home i will restore one more time and will set up as a new phone and will only sync 1 play list even smaller and see how long syncing takes there and weather it works at all..
will post results later on tonight... or tomorrow morning..

Check around the forums a bit... this has been around since Beta 1 and it's not specific to the Mac or Windows client, and there's no workaround that avoids the elongated sync after the data is transferred AND provides a working, searchable library on the device. If you end-task after it pushes the files, your iPhone will tell you there's no media on it. The 'barber shop' sync that it does after it has pushed the files to the device is proportional to the amount of data on the iPhone after the sync, and is NOT DIRECTLY AFFECTED by the amount you are currently syncing. E.g., A blank iPhone will take about 30-45 seconds during this phase after adding 1 song or 10 songs. An iPhone with 2,000 songs on it will take 30-45 MINUTES during this phase, adding the same 1 song or 10 songs (or even deleting songs, for that matter).

Hypothesis is that the iPhone cannot yet create the library that the new spotlight searching interface needs in order to function, and that iTunes is presently doing this for the iPhone. This can be verified by watching the file handles during this portion of the sync application, as they are very heavily writing to the database files that then get pushed to the iPhone. Also why when you download a song from iTunes on the iPhone, iPod.app crashes until you do a sync on the PC.
