You are correct, as I've tried everything you just answered since the my first post. Now, on the custom redsnow possibility, I found one where I could add a SSH bundle, but the bundle was from 4.2.1, just the ssh .tar bundle. It said it installed it, but not sure. Here you can see everything I did with some more info:

Yes but depending on how far into boot the hang is, it might not be possible to get this working.

I'm not going to join another forum just to help you.
You are again misguided if you think that connecting via wifi is the only option. Try usb mux tunnel (explained in the SSH ramdisk technique)

Sorry, didn't think you had to be registered. OK, I need sleep. I can't function anymore. I'm going to try to do the ram disk stuff in 8 hours and will post.

Hi, I've an iPod Touch 2g firmware 4.2.1 jailbroken with greenpois0n rc5, and now it's stuck in a recovery mode loop (I can't get out of that, I've tried so many programs yet, like TinyUmbrella, iRecovery, RecBoot, that programs aren't able to kick off this recovery mode loop, neither in DFU mode...).
So, I think the only way to restore my iPod to a normal state is to restore with iTunes...
But before my iPod gets restored, I want to recover ALL my applications data, expecially the contents of an app named "my photo albums", that contains 3-4 GB out of photos and videos...
I need to know exactly how to use the software "Data recovery: not just for iBoot-pwned devices", because I've jailbroken my iPod with Greenpois0n rc5, and isn't told if this exploit is supported by this software.
I want to know another thing: once the iPod filesystem's backup is done, I can check the backup to see if the photos of my interest are been saved?
And what's means that this method is recovery-destructive?
Then, if I've understood, when the backup is been generated by the software, I must do a restore with iTunes from backup and choose the created backup?

I had a similiar issue that may work for you. I did the ram disk method.

I got the phone to boot!!! I had someone in an irc chat that*moved the contents of*/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries to another folder, and the phone booted!!!! He asked me what I updated in Cydia, as we could probably nuke the items, but i couldn't remember, and then I asked why can't we just wipe it all out, and he liked my suggestion and it worked!

I think this may work for others with apple logo freezing issue after updating Cydia programs! I must have booted the phone 80 times and as soon as I moved that stuff out, it booted!

    Well, but the question is:
How can I move these files if I have not access to the filesystem??? ò_O
