Default Remain Activated & Unlocked (But Un-Jailbroken)

    Hello guys.

For my 1st gen iphone (2G) , which route i should follow to activate & unlock but keep the phone UN-jailbroken

i know it's possible but maybe because of itunes updates , i cannot manage to keep activation intact.

I downgrade to 3.1 or restore to custom 3.1.3 (pwnage made) .

And i get a jailbroken activated unlocked phone , but i need to remove jailbreak , because i simply dont need it , i need a little speed.

anyways , i update (not restore) to stock 3.1.3 (tried also 3.1.2) to keep unlock and activation , but even carrier shows (which proves unlock is O.K.) correctly , it goes back to "emergency state"

to sum up , what should i do to get a UN-jailbroken but activated and unlocked 2G ?

There is no real speed difference between jailbroken or not jailbroken in your case.
Actually if you are willing to turn off unwanted services you can probably make a jailbroken phone work faster than a non jailbroken phone.

The unlock is permanant with the 2G iPhone.

I'm pretty sure I can go from 3.1 to 3.1.2 via update on my 2G and keep my activation. Don't think that worked for 3.1.3.
Have no time to test this again, but that is what I remember worked for me.

Do you have access to the original simcard for this 2G phone, the one the phone was sold with? Was this phone ever activated on a legitmate plan with that simcard?

I can borrow an AT&T sim from a friend but that won't be the one spesifically came with the phone (is it a special necessity only for 2G iphones ?)

but what i found from a discussion board is as follows

"I believe you should download 3.1 for iPhone 2G , then download Pwnage Tool 3.1.3 and use it to modify the firmware you just downloaded (3.1) and tell Pwnage Tool to unlock and hackivate the phone. Once that's done, put your phone into DFU mode like Pwnage Tool instructs you to, and install this firmware using iTunes (alt-restore and choose your modified firmware that you saved with Pwnage Tool). Once this is complete, reboot the phone and you should have your network connecting and the phone working, but jailbroken.

Don't bother syncing the phone just yet. In iTunes, click on "Update" on the iPhone screen (NOT restore), and iTunes should tell you a new firmware is out and you should install it. Let iTunes download and install the newest firmware and update the phone. If all goes well you should have a phone that remains unlocked, activated and unjailbroken.

    Hope this helps"

tried that exactly oletros ,but cannot survive from emergency screen . i wonder if itunes version is the problem ?

As I said, I don't think this works when updating to 3.1.3 (but I am pretty sure if you option-click and browse to a 3.1.2 IPSW then update to 3.1.2 it will work)
