Default [Question] How do I downgrade from 3.0.1. ?

I bought a second hand iphone. It was unlocked for me to use with my t-mobile. It works. Here is the issue. It does not catch wifi.

The phone has Cydia on it, and its at 3.0.1 ( its a 3g iphone)

i tried hard reboot and troubleshooting.

How do I downgrade from 3.0.1. ???? I think that may fix the issue.

    Thank you for the help

If it is upgraded to 3.0.1 and then unlocked this means you can safely downgrade to 3.0 with itunes

PLace your iphone to DFU mode using power and home keys plug it to your computer and in itunes select your iphone , then press shift button on your keyboard and press restore, then browse to the IPSW with the 3.0 firmware

Dude, I did that and it locked me out. I had to update all over again. Im gona just wait for firmware 3.1 to come out.

My iphone wifi works if i sit right next to the router. But a few feet away and the signal goes away completely.

Well when you downgrade you have to jailbreak it again with redsnow, i forgot to add it in my first post, then you have to unlock it again with ultrasn0w

there are plenty tutorials in the board so read a little

about wifi signal and router there are 2 sides of things, one is the phone side (which i am not aware how to fix if it is happen, except firmware upgrade or downgrade), the other is the router side, if the router beacon emmits low signal you will get low signal, try to boost the signal from the router settings (if it is possible, not evry router has that kind of setting)

Thanks for the help. But I think I know what the problem is. It lies with the Apple firmware update.

My router is fine, and the phone doesnt catch any wifi spots. I tried restoring, and every other troubleshooting out there and nothing worked.

I have two choices, I can wait until Apple releases another update, or I can wait until the hackers release Ziphone 3.0.1 so I can downgrade.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. The phone catches my wifi, only if i sit right next to my router. I read on Apple forums, that after an update people sometimes have issues with the wifi.

why do you have to wait for ziphone? just downgrade with Shift-Restore and DFU. jailbreak and unlock.

There won't be ZiPhone 3.0.1. That program is not developed for some time now.

And if you can stay away from that. is gives more troubles then it fixes.

    Thanks for the responses...

I downgraded to 2.2.1, waited for 7 hours and the wifi still was not working. I am almost sure its the hardware now. So I called apple and they are gonna take a look at it. They are sending a label to my house tomorrow.

I'll update whether my phone gets fixed or my warranty rejected (the phone is second hand, could be water damage). So suspenseful...
