[Problem] unlock screen seems to freeze for a some time before I can unlock
I'm hoping someone is maybe experiencing the same thing as i or atleast heard of the issue. I have a 2g iphone. Its been fine for the longest time. Since upgrading to 3.0 whenever i go to unlock the phone it wont allow me to slide the bar across. It might attempt to move slight and only after continuously push the top button then try to unlock again ( normally about 7 times) then it will come alive and the bar with move with my finger. At first i was thinking maybe the touchscreen is going but the weird thing is once you unlock the phone its perfect, no issues on the touchscreen whatsoever. I tested especially in the area where the slide bar is and no dead spots or anything. Its only on the unlock screen that it seems to freeze up or go dead for x amount of time before eventually allowing me to unlock it...
Someone HELP!! its drving me nuts. Trying to read aa text message is taking me nearly 30 minutes from recieving and trying to unlock the damn phone.
What i've tried to fix it:
I've done numerous hard resets - not fix
I've done a restore in itunes - not fix
What i haven't done is maybe delete the ver3.0 i've got and D/L it again. Maybe a problem in the D/L?
Or install 2.2.1 and see if it goes away but thats kinda taking 2 steps back i think..
Thanks in advance.

Reason: Title changed from "Help please, major stupid issue!"
A list of things installed after jailbreaking would help... Themes, programs, enhancements...
Do you have any lock screen applets installed (weather features, quickSMS, themes that affect the lock?) When you did the restore/jailbreak did you try the lock screen before installing any apps/themes?
A big question is: Is the phone jailbroke or unlocked?
Ok thanks for the reply. When i had the iphone on 2.2.1 that was with a jail break. I since then upgraded to 3.0 without jailbreak or unlock. This i know is not an issue. The only apps i have installed are ones from the app store.
After the restore it worked fine for maybe 1 hour. Then the problem started happening again.
after restore do u setup as new iphone or restore from backup?

after clean restore, does your phone work smoothly? you know "slide to unlock" or "slide to emergency call" (if not hactivated)
we'll know if it's OS3's problem or the software you install afterwards

I made sure i didn't install no apps after and i also did i clean resotre WITHOUT a backup. Still shows same issues. Funny thing is now its happens alot quicker. before it would kick in maybe an hour later. Now its straight away. The phone is now in its box and branded useless at the moment as even when i turn it on its not respoding straight away.
I might try down grading it to 2.2.1
Does anyone have a install of this?
If it's still under warranty restore to 3.0 and take it over an Apple Store.
