Default [Problem] new SIM it's not picking up the network

    Hey dudez.

A few weeks ago during a fit of drinking I managed to lose my iPhone in someones sofa. Dismayed, I went to the ATT store and got a new SIM chip to throw in my old Palm Centro. Just the other day I received a call from a friend who had found my iPhone. I put this new SIM in the iPhone and it's not picking up the network. Do I need to go schlep down to the ATT store to fix this problem or can I do it myself?

    Thanks in advance!

You need to activate again the iphone with the new SIM. Sync with iTunes to see if it asks for activation.

It's not asking if i'd like to activate, any way I can do that manually?

    Thanks!

Try to restore settings, to put the iPhone to the factory defaults. Then it should ask for activation

Phone AT&T and ask them. In Europe if you report a phone lost or stolen they will block the IMEI so the phone can't be used. Maybe AT&T have done that to yours.
He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Yeah, I checked about the IMEI and it appears to be unblocked. I guess i'm gonna have to saunter into an ATT store after all, by far one of my least favorite places.

    Thanks for the help guys.
