Default [Problem] iPhone no longer working

Bought my phone off eBay a year ago locked. Got a friend to unlock using iLiberty or ZiPhone (don't remember which one) on v. 1.1.3. It's been working flawless on T-mobile until recently. I plugged it into the comp and upgraded iTunes and also upgraded it to the 3.0 OS by pushing the "upgrade" button. I didn't restore to a custom 3.0 firmware but upgraded directly through iTunes. I then ran redsn0w and the phone is jailbroken with cydia/icy installed but I still get no service. When I plug the iPhone in, iTunes still recognizes it but I don't have service with my sim card. Does anyone know a fix to his. I've tried downgrading to 2.0, 2.1, 1.1.4, 1.1.3 and back to 3.0 but I still can't get this thing to unlock!!!

Try a restore again and do not restore from backup. Set it as new iPhone. Follow iClarified tutorial. Good luck

Drain the battery completely and recharge with phone off....turn phone on and try again..

try and get back to the home screen and No panic! First you are not going to restore to older versions using this iTunes version (I assume you are using the latest).

Lets try some stuff first. For this you will be using the ORIGINAL firmware from Apple. The md5sum of it should be:

    463e37446a342857737a1633470faf8d iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.0 Using RedSn0w (Windows)

Just make sure your firmware is not corrupted before we start. If it is (if the md5sum is different), download a new copy!

Use the brand new redsnow 8.0 for WINDOWS

    http://hotfile.com/dl/8136495/55c327...n_0.8.zip.html

    FORCED DFU MODE

    1) Now, plug the iPhone to the PC/Mac and wait for the apple logo to appear ( the iphone is starting to boot)
    2) Press and hold home+power until it boots
    3) Right after the boot, count to 5 (5 seconds) and let go the power button (keep holding home)
    4) Now you are in DFU. Try to restore it.

    FORCED RECOVERY MODE

    1) Plug the iPhone to the PC/Mac and wait for the apple logo to appear ( the iphone is starting to boot)
    2) Press and hold home+power until it boots and keep holding until you see the recovery message poping in the computer screen.
    4) Try to restore it.

Let us know if it works.

ok here's the problem i am at right now. itunes will not recognize my iphone so there's no way for me to update or even restore my iphone right now. anyone have a solution to that? i tried redsn0wing my iphone (its currently on 3.0 OS anyways) but now the only thing on the phone is cydia. thats it!!! nothing else. is there a way to wipe out everything and start over fresh. none of the tutorials are working at all on this. and please dont just copy and paste a tutorial or automated response. everyones issues are different and seeing the same reply on this thread as other threads aren't helpful cause i've already tried it from searching around.
