Upgrade from iPhone 3.0 to 3.1.2; or no?
Hey guys, I've been out of the loop for a good while now. I'm currently running on 3.0 (7A341) Jailbroken and unlocked with Redsn0w and Ultrasn0w.
I get great service with the unlock I have, everything works fine, and the battery life isn't so bad after re-adjusting the settings. But I have noticed a lot of the newer applications aren't compatible with my Baseban and aren't syncing at all. I'm not sure if it's because I'm running an older version and aren't up to date or what.
I can't afford to brick my phone so I've been sketchy about these new unlocks and processes of unlocking because why mess with a good thing right?
But I am having minor problems, and there's still the fear of using Cydia.. I haven't touched it or upgraded it in close to half a year...
I've stayed away from modding my phone with themes and cydia downloads because last time I tried using cydia, it looped my phone in a constant restart/off&on process. It basically was worse than 'bricking' it.
TL;DR: Should I upgrade to the newest unlock ?
How much more complex is the new process in comparison to the ultrasn0w cydia download unlock?
is it even worth the risk ? if so how do I go about doing this in a smart and careful method of unlock/jailbreaking?
sorry guys I'm super damn tired, let me know if my post was too thick, I'll be back tomorrow. Goodnight :)

Ultrasn0w will unlock 3.1.x as long as you restore with a custom. 3.1.x ipsw and you are currently running 3.0
There is a windows pwnagetool clone but it is not made by the devteam, it is not reccommend by the devteam or by me
