    Default Please Help... Iphone bricked

Hi frenz... i am using an iPhone 2G with 3.0 OS... JB and unlocked using redsnow...

everything was working fine till yesterday... now my phone seems to be bricked... when i switch on the phone i am stuck at the apple logo... nothing else happens.... i will give u a summary of what mite have caused this problem...

    1. yesterday my sister dropped the phone... and since then it was not chargin properly.... when i connect the charger nothing wud happen... well, when the battery had completely drained out and i tried again, the apple logo came on.... but it wud never get charged much... it wud still be in the red zone... i dont know if this was caused by the fall... the only other change that i had made to the phone after the previous recharge was that i installed come apps from cydia like backgrounder winterboard, volume boost... and something called terminal appeared on its own... i didnt instal it and when i tried to uninstall in cydia i cudnt find it listed there....

    2. and then a friend of mine was playing around with cydia and he uninstalled everything (including cydia)... dont ask me why he did it... he told me that he had just uninstalled some software called tape archiver or something.... (i dont remember installing that app in my mobile though)... and after the uninstallation process the iphone rebooted... but it got stuck at the apple logo...

i have been trying to restore ... but i am not able to get into DFU.... the phone is not being detected in Windows or Itunes... i am using windows 7 ultimate and Itunes 9.0.2.25 .... earlier it used to be detected in itunes... i am not sure whether it was detected in windows....

the only change that i have been able to get was by doing the following.... holding down power and home button together till the phone reboots ( that is the apple logo appears again) and then releasing the power button and keep pressing the home button... if i do this with itunes open and iphone connected to the computer i get the screen telling me to connect the phone to itunes....

i think i have tried almost everything to get into DFU or restore mode.... even tried ziphone and blackrain...

please help me.... can anything be done?

    thanks in advance...

Don't ever try ziphone it is bad news.

It is positive that you can get into recovery mode

I would try restoring via that mode.

yeah i know ziphone is bad news... but i even stooped to that level

but nothing happened... since my phone is not being detected in windows ziphone cudnt find it either....

and i forgot to mention that even though i do get into the recovery mode (hopefully that is what it is) the phone is still not detected in Itunes or windows.

i tried using another computer running windows XP. but no success....

if you get it into recovery mode and itunes opens , the phone should show up there,Just a try- is your computer connected to the internet when u connect the iphone to your computer????
if not, try connecting to internet and then connect the phone to the computer ( its been a while since i checked but i feel itunes check with the iphone update server before it recognizes a phone in recovery mode)

once it does show up , just shift+restore to the latest firmware ( that should solve you problem- except for the battery thing , i dont know what all that is about

    good luck

Check the dock connector and see if it is damaged, full of dirt etc.

    Try a different cable.
