Yes I tried to update to firmware 3.0 but it didn't complete successfully.

Now the Iphone is without any firmware indeed, and only displays the Usb and Itunes Logo.

Whenever I try to restore an IPSW it stuck on " Waiting for I phone" without completing.

    it's driving me crazy
So when you plug the iPhone into the PC itunes should pop up and tell you an iPhone is found in restore/recovery mode. If you just hit "restore" iTunes should do all the work. Or do you get stucked even then?

    Hi VolksPost:

Yeah when I plug the iPhone into the PC itunes pops up and tells me that an iPhone is found in restore/recovery mode. I hit Shift+ "restore" and Locate the IPSW (tried almost all the IPSWs, even on different PCs), now iTunes starts exctracting the software , prepairing the Iphone, then after the second reboot, it get stucked on "Waiting for Iphone".

    Thanks for your Reply

Can you please just hit restore. Just want to make sure you are not dealing with a corrupt firmware. Just hitting restore (without shift) will make iTunes to dl the ipsw and install.

Shift and restore shouldn't work with iTunes 8.2 unless you've hacked it.

Make sure you are using standard iTunes 8.2 then, as Volkspot says, just restore. This will download the latest, correct ipsw for your phone and restore it. You should then have a working iPhone on FW3.0 which you can then JB with RedSn0w 0.8 and unlock with UltraSn0w 0.8

    Hi Volkspot:

I did as you said, I hit restore and itunes downloaded the firmware then after finishing it started exctracting the software automaticlly, then the apple Logo appeared on Iphone with Loading bar, after a few seconds the loading bar disappears and the Usb cable pointing to itunes reappears and iTunes displays and error: "The Iphone could not be restored. An unkwnon error occurred (28). I tried restarting the computer and redo all the steps but the same thing happened. I tried changing the usb port but led to samething. I even tried to to do the same on another computer.... The same...

    What's wrong??

    Thanks
