I wish I would get lucky and talk to someone at AT&T that actually knows what they're doing. Most of them don't even know what 3.0 is and the others say there's no possible way to turn on MMS even though I insist that it's possible.

just as an FYI: I too have fully working mms on 3.0 on my iPhone 3g. Installed the AT&T carrier bundly to get it to 5.0 and it took 2 calls to AT&T but , for now atleast, I've got it all working... So it CAN be done.

    instant classic.

Yeah it's been all day and I haven't lost MMS capability yet.

It seems I just needed to have switched the SIMs between the iPhone and the Blackberry long enough for the system to do whatever it did behind the scenes.

I just called AT&T and asked them to add MMS to my account. They said they'd have to change it over to the Regular Unlimited Text Plan instead of the iPhone Unlimited Text Plan, which doesn't include MMS capability. He said the system updated fine and now shows my iPhone as an MMS capable unit.

Still waiting for the system to update so one of these puppies goes through.

even with supposed "proper settings" it wouldn't work for me.. i put in a friends sim card from a BB curve and i was able to both send and recieve MMS.. put my sim card in her phone and was able to send and recieve mms.. made sure my phone on my account on ATT.com was changed to hers.. like listed as a blackberry curve.. then swapped back... and viola.. NOTHING. Stopped being able to send and recieve MMS. I think AT&T is getting wise to our trickery. anyone still have functioning MMS on the iphone?
