After setting my APN in Cellular Data and APN in MMS, I'm now able to sent and received MMS!

Previously, my APN in MMS wasn't saved because I did not key in the same APN for that Cellular Data. In other word, both the APN must have the same value.

In 2.2.1, using SwirlyMMS, I dont need to enter any value for MMS in Cellular Data.
Yes, this works indeed. But what happens if your provider uses different APN's for data and mms? (apparently this is my case)

p.s i think it can from iSpazio repo
I'm wondering what settings you used to get your 2g mms working with tmobile. It seems i have everything working got the camera Icon and my settings are,
    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
    MMS PROXY: 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size: 9999

I made my max size this because in previous forums for the 3g it seems that is what they needed to do in order to get the incoming image to be good quality.

My problem is, is that I've sent a picture from my wifes phone and sent one to her phone. But I havent recived hers nor hers mine. That status bar showed it sent but nothing so far. Any idea of what I need to do?

ahhh also my apn keeps reseting but the other mms settings stay!
YESSSSSS I GOT IT TO STICK!
just download a custom mobileconfig for your carrier at http://help.benm.at/help.php go on it on your iphone and download the carrier settings straight to your phone and voila the MMS settings stick.
I just succesfully sent an MMS message and received one on Tmobile USA

MMS, Tethering working on iPhone 3G (IPCC Included) - Erodov

also try apples phone configurator utility: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/enterprise/

    T-Mobile USA settings:

    Settings/General/Network/Cellular Data
(note that Cellular Data APN and MMS APN must be the same or it won't save.)

    Cellular Data settings

    • APN: wap.voicestream.com
    • Username: (leave blank)
    • Password: (leave blank)

    MMS settings

    • APN: wap.voicestream.com
    • Username: (leave blank)
    • Password: (leave blank)
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
    • MMS Max Message Size: (leave blank)
    • MMS UA Prof URL: (leave blank)

    *i am on t-zones $6.95 data plan
*you may need to reboot after applying these settings (i didn't)
*you don't have to be on Edge to send/receive mms (so disregard my edge icon in the pictures and the "Nano" name instead of saying T-mobile.
*you may also need to turn on MMS Messaging in: Settings/Messages (mine was turned on by deault after installing ActivateMMS2G
*ActivateMMS2G repo I used was a default one that came with Cydia (Ispazio)

Are there any T-Mobile US users subscribed to the $20 data plan that uses the internet2.voicestream.com APN that have managed to get this to work?

I have tried various combinations of mobileconfig profiles none of which seem to work.

I thought i might be able to specify 2 managed network APNs in the mobileconfig. One for MMS using wap.voicestream.com with a type-mask of 4 and the other for everything else using internet2.voicestream.com with a type mask of -5.

For the most part it seems like it should work. I can edit the MMS independently of the other APNs. However the MMS APN doesnt stick.

As mentioned before something seems to be preventing the use of 2 different APNs at once, when this is supposed to be a key feature of 3.0

Try switching your APN to wap.voicestream.com. For some reason on the old $20 plan you could interchange the 2 APN's
