Default Manually backup of SMS and callhistory

Hello, When I installed 3.0, I did a fresh install but then manually restored the SMS.db and callhistory.db.. because I didn't want to lose this.

Also restored the Documents folder from a few apps (like games) to not to lose any game save data.

Last night I installed 3.0.1 and did the same, copied over the SMS.db file and the entire SMS folder..

but things got complicated.. I didn't notice but for the whole afternoon and today I didn't get any SMS.. I was sent a few, but they didn't appear at my iphone.

Oh I use Bitesms so maybe this complicated things.

My question is: is there any safe way to backup and then later restore SMS and callhistory WITHOUT having to restore the whole iphone after I wipe it clean?

    thanks.

It could be permissions and ownership related. I did the same as you and could not send SMS until I applied the correct permissions to the files and folders under /var/mobile/Library/SMS/

Don't use bite SMS so can't comment on that.
