    Hi,

If you're not a developer, you didn't get the ipsw from Apple, and should know this would happen. I don't think what you're asking is allowed.

Which iPod Touch is it? Did you try DFU restore to 4.0? Do you have shsh blobs saved for any firmware below the beta?

As element said. If you're not a developer and you don't want to downgrade back to 4.0.1, you'll need your UDID registered as a dev. Check the flea market to see if there are any holdovers from the 4.0 beta still with slots open -- it's the only place on the forums we allow that type of discussion.

That said, I'd recommend downgrading to 4.0.1 and staying there. If you have any interest whatsoever in jailbreaking or unlocking in the future, STOP PLAYING WITH BETA DEVELOPER FIRMWARE. You're just going to end up locking your phone to a firmware you can't jailbreak, or upgrading your baseband to a version you can't unlock, etc. If you're not a legitimate developer, messing with the beta firmware is a great way to ensure your phone doesn't work right and you miss out on the jailbreak opportunities.

Also, make very sure you have your 4.0.1 SHSH as soon as possible. Apple has already fixed the jailbreakme exploit and it will be out in 4.0.2 or 4.1 -- Apple will stop signing 4.0.1 very quickly after it is released in order to get this hole closed. You posted in the 3G forum but mention an ipod touch -- this is important to be distinct about. Depending on what version IPT or iPhone you have, SHSH may or may not be required. While the 3G only uses the soft-SHSH check, it's still worth getting a copy of. The IPT 2G and 3G both require SHSH for restoring as I recall, so you'll definitely want to get this taken care of.
