    Can anyone confirm the iPod app crashing on every launch after purchasing and downloading music on the phone?

    Yup, Crashing for me as well! This is a pretty big bug if you ask me!!! I've submitted to Apple's Bug Reporter.

    It didn't change with any number of hard or soft reboots. I notice I could no longer find any music in Spotlight as well.
    A sync initially didn't change anything, the app still crashed on launch. But now I could find music in Spotlight. I selected a song in Spotlight, it thought for a while, and eventually played. Now all is back to normal.
    I'm assuming the iTunes app is corrupting the music database.

    I did post a bug in their bug report hopefully they do something about it. I've noticed if you do a restore on your phone without a back up a lot of these features work but I can't afford to do this to be honest with you

    As an FYI -- this is NOT fixed by doing a Restore to 3.0 and setting the iPhone up as a new iPhone -- this issue still persists. You can fix battery life issues and a few other stability issues by not doing the restore, but this isn't one of them. It really seems as though the firmware just doesn't contain the necessary bits for the iTunes app or the iPhone to re-generate its Music Library.
