Default iPhone 3G recovery mode !!!

Hi guys i have a problem and i hope someone could help me with it:

For info: i have A MAC

Ok so like 2 months ago my iphone 3g "died" it was bricked (i think) or whatever it was stuck on the inifinite bootloop so i got tired of it and bought the iphone 4, but i said to myself what if my iphone 4 breaks right ?

So look since yesterday i have been trying to restore my iphone 3g and i always got the 1015 error at the end of the restore so i'm stuck on recovery mode...

My iphone is the 3G and i THINK IT'S on 4.2.1 NOT SURE !!! this is what i tried:

Called apple (told me to go to a apple store but i have the ipad BB 6.15)
Tried to restore with an official ipsw 3.1.2 iphone 3g

Tried update and restore with itunes (4.1.2)

Can someone help me ?! IM ON MAC

Disregard wyandavidson's post, it really doesn't apply and will probably just make things worse. Putting your phone in DFU mode is not going to solve the problem and recommending that you download iOS 4.0 makes absolutely no sense it's not referenced again in the instructions and without an SHSH, iOS 4.0 is of no use to you.

Did you read the documentation included when you upgraded your baseband to 06.15.00? Having done the upgrade makes it so that normal restores will NEVER complete successfully. You must follow specific instructions and create custom firmware in order to restore to a device with the 06.15.00 baseband. If you aren't familiar, read this thread: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f204/196391.htm

Beyond that, iOS 4.0+ require SHSH in order to restore versions that are not current. Current iOS revisions are iOS 5.0 and the iOS 5.0.1 betas. Without an SHSH, you will be unable to restore to 4.x. Do you have any SHSH on file with cydia or on your computer?
The preceding forum post has been brought to you by the letter "N" and the number 42.

    iPhone 4, 32GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n | SHSH: 4.0 - 6.1.2)
    iPad 2 3G, 64GB (iOS 6.1.2 | evasi0n
    |
    SHSH: 4.3 & 4.3.3 - 6.1)

    Restore problems? Read this: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm
