    Default Iphone 3.1.2 wifi problem

Ive searched really hard to find an answer but nothing.... i have iphone 3g with 3.1.2 jailbroken iphone wifi worked perfectly untill about 2 weeks ago, i can see the networks and sometimes connect to them but when connected it usually boots me off, my home network iphone will only work if it is not password protected and even then it will boot me off every couple minutes, and once i put a password on my router my phone cannot connect to the network tryed password many many times.... ive tried forget network, reset network, restored iphone and re jailbroke but nothing still messed up if anyone has any ideas how to fix this problem would be alot of help thanks alot.
ps my router works with all 3 other laptops in the house ive restarted router, restored to default so i dont think its my router cause this happens with all networks not just my house network thanks

There have been wifi problems reported for 3G and 3GS iPhones running OS 3.x especially 3.1.2

Try a reset network settings and a restore. Set iPhone up as new, don't let it restore from iTunes backup.

That is a strange problem regarding password protection.

You need to supply some details on what type of wifi network you are trying to connect to. What type of encryption were you trying to enable?

Are you sure you set iPhone up as new when you restored the iPhone?

You should start isolating causes as much as you

How old is your 3G iPhone? Is it still in warranty? If it is from just after the 3G was released you can maybe use fuzzyband to downgrade the baseband?

The only way to downgrade baseband on a 3G is if you are lucky enough to have purchased an early model 3G that has boootloader 5.8

If the problem is related to the baseband included in 3.1.2 then downgrading or upgrading the baseband might fix it. Especially if the problem started when you first upgraded to 3.1.2 or 3.1 iPhone OS and as a result upgraded your baseband.

WEP is outdated/deprecated for securing wifi. XP SP3 has even removed built-in support for WEP. Have you tried WPA or WPA2 instead?

Try fuzzyband 3.1GM - it either works or does not change a thing.

I highly doubt it, you could always test with another sim card.
