Of course, you'll also need: libusb, libtasn1, usbmuxd, libplist, libiphone.

    Default Dmytro's A2DP Hack

Should your bluetooth be able to coexist with his A2DP enabling hack? I installed both and got a constant reboot loop.

    Short answer: no.

Long answer: by "his", I hereby assume you mean Dmytro's A2DP hack. It fakes your USB device_id to make iPhone 2G look like an iPhone 3G. My hack works only if iPhone 2G is seen as it is: an iPhone 2G, otherwise it won't be "taken". However, you seem to be the first person to get a reboot loop. I am sorry to hear that. AFAIK, neither hack should cause such a behaviour, but I cannot vouch for other people tricks. The reboot loop may have other causes and only exhibited when you rebooted for this last time.

Thanks for your concern. I figured it was going to mess it up, but I wanted to try anyway. I just put it into restore mode and reloaded everything. Trying to squeeze the most out of this old guy. Still working on getting notifications working on a hacktivated and jailbroken 2g. While tethering would be great, A2DP is more important to me at the moment. Still can't believe Apple crippled this functionality. Boo!

ALL the 3G bluetooth profiles are enabled either by using my hack or Dmytro's hack. Not only A2DP. But mine is a punctual and isolated trick, while his makes your iPhone 2G posing as something else. It's not up to me to say which one is better.

However, this has nothing to do with tethering per se. You may apply my CommCenter patches to enable tethering/mms and skip my BTServer patch. The 00README.txt from the latest archive (see post #163) clearly states that Bluetooth part is optional and decoupled from tethering.

    2. download and unpack (the sourcecode of bpatch is there only for reference, you don't have to compile anything)
    Where can I find bpatch?

bspatch is availabe from Cydia I believe if you want to apply the patch on the iPhone.

If you are using Mac OS X, bspatch is installed by default.

It's bpatch. A tool I wrote just for this job (human readable diffs, patch-on-the-fly, etc). bspatch is something else: hxxp://www.daemonology.net/bsdiff/

You can find both sourcecode and iphoneos binary of my bpatch inside the archive, on mediafire: see post #163 on this thread.

Pay attention: "inside the archive, on mediafire". Emphasis on "a". media fire. medi a fire. Not medifire. Got it?
