    On T-mo, 2G , 3.1.2, blackra1n.

Steps worked for me on two phones. Only thing had to fix was carrier.plist to hold mms apn settings. Easiest just to set to wap on both apn's. Phones not that fast on internet anyway. Mostly use wifi.

Oh and used very first post to do. Never had issues. Not newbie but nowhere close to being good, just good enough.....to be dangerous.

Updated T-Mobile USA carrier bundle is out. iPhone 2G users with the new Bluetooth, MMS, and Tethering hack can now have two different APNs (that stick) for data and MMS.

Either use the ipcc or wait for it to show in Cydia. Version 1.0.11.

Does anybody know if this hack works for 3.1.3 yet?

wellll I definitely screwed this up. Not sure exactly where yet but my phone will not boot, its stuck on the apple logo and I can't SSH into it to restore to the original files. I'd really rather not restore my whole phone. Any advice on how I can access my phone's file system in this state?

Should you happen to get stuck at the Apple logo, then you need to pay more attention in future!
This will most likely be because you did not chmod CommCenter after copying it.

You should have just read the carrier bundle thread and gone from there (Cydia method with Bluetooth, tethering, and no unusual battery drain).

Avoid this patch (from the first post) like the plague.

I'd advise you to restore. Olethros might have some sort of idea on how to get past the Apple logo though.

Not really. Mostly you have to restore if stuck at that point.

Do some searching next time, dborca has already posted an updated 3.1.3 patch to enable 2G tethering, bluetooth and MMS. As he says, there is absolutely no need to upgrade to 3.1.3, but the patch is here if you absolutely must upgrade.
