You mentioned changing the APN settings if it doesn't work. How did you accomplish this and what did you change them to?

Different CommCenter patch same result. Only difference this time is that I have the MMS settings under the Cellular Data option & unlike when I used to use ActivateMMS2G the settings stick. But same result in the Messages app though, where the outline for the camera button comes for a brief second & then disappears (so fast that I can't get a screenshot).

The updated 1-Byte-only patch is already out.. Look at the first post of this thread by whiterat.

I tried it last night, but I cannot yet confirm if the battery-drain issue is fixed..

Not working for me. I get a red ! (after a long, long wait) when i'm trying to send. Btw it's a spanish carrier, not AT&T or T-mobile.

I replaced CommCenter (lastest version) and put my settings with a profile downloaded from a web and not in the carrier.plist. Could be this the problem?

Swirly can send with same settings

    Any other ideas? Thanks

I installed the patch a couple hours ago, and the battery started to drain faster again. I will test more to make sure the issue is fixed or not.

    Thanks guys....
i loaded the new patch for commcenter.....dont see any battery drain issues so far yet I still dont get the camera icon in my messages.....

I have a jailbroken 3.1.2 from one of the ipsw available online. Doesnt seem to give me any other issue other that no matter what I do i just cant get the camera icon in my message. Any clues?

Also can someone give the steps on how to manually change the carrier bundle so that the APN settings stick? sorry for the noobie questions....

Did you add the MMS key in M68AP.plist and set it to "true" ?

Default Almost Got It (I Think)

Well I gave this a try today and I seem to have it partially correct.

When I go into settings/general/network/cellular data network, I have MMS setting options. In fact, the MMSC and MMS Proxy are already filled in. Not sure if that was from having MMS on 3.0 or not. Anyways, no camera icon and no option to enable MMS through settings/messages.

    Any advice?

    ***EDIT***

Got everything working, just needed to toy around with the APN setting and grab one of the carrier bundles available via Cydia.

    This is great, thanks again!

    Default everything but apn

i've done everything right, but the apn i'm guessing.

    i have a jailbroken iphone 2g running 3.1.2.
    did everything like you said.

i do NOT get an option in general/network/cellular data network

i really would like to use mms.
i try to send a picture and it goes almost to the end... then i get the "!"

    thanks!
    and wonderful patch!
some people are complaining, but in the end, it'll be great!

    Yes I did....
I did some more research and edited the carrier bundle and changed the comcenter patch with what MK listed on youtube....no changes to M68Ap from what changes I made previously
after that I did get the camera icon....

the APN were not sticking so i edited the carrier bundle again and defined the apn in that and the reset the settings and like whiterat earlier said they would stick...they did indeed....

now I am able to send MMS .....however I do see the battery drain faster.... will try and change the commcenter patch to the new one Whiterat provided
