Default iPhone 2G 3.0 OS not recognized in DFU mode!

Hello all, I am having a big problem. My iPhone 2G 3.0 os was not recognized by my computer and was giving me trouble so I thought by erasing all settings and contents I could start from scratch. Not so! It still isn't recognized. It charges perfectly via Firewire and the problem is not with my iTunes because I have uninstalled and reinstalled different versions 5 times. This all started after putting my iPhone into one of those Stereo-Dock things which was probably meant for iPods only (DOH!). The message this device is not compatible showed up and that was the end of that. It doesn't show up in My Computer or Device Manager or iTunes. I know that there must be some kind of connection because when I hook it up the Pineapple logo flashes (Which I take to mean that it is charging). Can someone please help me?????????

Assuming nothing is wrong with hardware, you should be able to restore once you put in dfu mode.

Press and hold the 2 buttons for exactly 10 seconds, then release only top button and continue holding home button until iTunes pops up.

try different versions of itunes but it still doesnt work.

same as my problem.. can enter DFU mode but after plug in cable, computer not recognized the USB.. i already create the thread but the mod closed it without knowing the actual problem..

i already done restoration on other iphone... so basicly:-
    -USB cable working
    -USB port working

this iphone i not evn connect using normal connection because i just bought it from other seller and directly reset.. and stuck at circle wheel...

or it might be "when the device 1st time connect to the computer, it will install driver"?? thats why cant connect in DFU mode??

iPhone recovery mode - should be detected by blackra1n (if running iOS 3.1.2 or 3.1) as well as by iTunes

Check your iTunes install is okay. Try to remove and reinstall iTunes fully.
See Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP or Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Your problem does not sound to be exactly the same as the original poster. They see nothing in device manager/system profiler.

Problem - I pressed reset all data option from iPhone2G and my iPhone never started from then. iPhone goes into recovery loop when I connect to PC. iPhone is not detected by iTunes and PC shows balloon tooltip - 'USB not recognized and malfunctioned'

    I have iPhone 2g with 3.1.2, iTune 9.0.2.25

I tried below solutions with original AT&T card -
    1. Tried reinstalling iTunes to 8,8.2, 9 versions - no luck
    2. Blacktran(blackra1n.exe) solution - iPhone not detected
    3. iRecovery - iPhone not detected
    4. Used another USB cable and different USB ports of pc - no luck
    5. Used another PC - my iPhone is not detected on that PC either and same balloon tooltip is displayed on that PC. Although my frnd has same iPhone firmware (iPhone 2g and 3.1.2) and his iPhone works very well on that PC.
    6. Spirit.exe - iPhone not detected
    7. iReb - Tried recovery loop fix of iReb(iREB 4.0.x-4.1-RC2.exe) but no luck
    8. Tried placing usbaapl.sys in C:\WINDOWS\inf and C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers too - no luck. I think this is not PC specific issue as my iPhone is not getting detected on my frnd's PC too even though his iPhone works very well.
    9. Checked "Apple Mobile Device" and it was running - restarted service bu
    10. Device manager shows 'Unknown Device'

It has happened before that people have had problems getting their phones detected after "erase all content and settings".
You just need to keep on trying to force the phone into DFU (hardware recovery mode)
Try an official USB iPhone charger, the procedure for DFU mode from bootloop has been documented many times - the timing is different to when your phone can boot from an OS.

Once you have the device in hardware DFU mode, you can transfer it from the standalone charger to a computer
