    Default how stable is 3.0???

i upgraded from 2G 2.2.1 to 3G 3.0 just the other day. naturally i had to re-installed a lot of apps from cydia from new theme to five icons dock to 20 seconds lockscreen to fontswap....etc

i am not sure if people have similar experience so far, but my phone has been very unstable from not able to get pass the locksrceen with the slider. and sometime after i re-spring and reboot, i can not get pass the lockscreen as it's frozen.

i can't figure out if certain app is causing this behavior. it would be a pain to un-install all the apps and re-install a couple at a time to identify which app is the culprit. i understand a bunch of apps simply don't work with firmware 3.0 when they work perfectly fine in 2.2 and 2.2.1

it would be nice if we can start a tread here and identify which app(s) potentially responsible for the crash.

Same problem here. I installed Five Icon Dock and Winterboard, had 2 or 3 crashes / reboots, and decided to give up on the jailbreak for now

guys, have patience until the developers are able to update their apps for 3.0, AND provide performance updates. Its one thing to have an app WORK on an iphone os version, its an other thing to have it work with PERFORMANCE (as in not causing lag or stuff like that)
My advice is to READ the changelog of the apps you install, AND, if you notice bugs, lags, problems, email developers and, if possible, attach syslogs, as they will be more than happy to have someone else do the bug tracking.

Yes, I have too noticed that lock screen thing freeze for a couple of seconds at start, but, I think that is because winterboarder mobile substrate add-on is loading the oh so many gui tweaks that we like to have on our iphones.......

Of course the iphone behaves better without being jailbroken...... DUH.........

i totally agreed with you. i understand most of the apps were written for firmware 2.x.x and while firmware 3.0 may have a whole new kernel which can easily cause certain apps to step over each others, hence crash.

i am merely trying to see people running 3.0 here can potentially identify certain apps, share the info here, so people can avoid installing them until the devlelopers get a chance to re-vamp the apps.

    thanks!

    FW 3.0 is very stable.
You install other apps and then blame FW3.0?
5 icon dock, I believe is the problem. I don't think it's compatable with FW3.0 yet.

This is also the 3G forum not the 2G forum so your post is in the wrong place.

this is exactly what i was trying to accomplish here, to find out what apps may potentially cause the crash, thereby inform other in the event they encounter crash, which app(s) they can un-install to prevent the crash.

    1. no one is blaming 3.0, only to see what apps work and don't work. you sure jump the gun to say we blame 3.0. if i had to guess, you must work for apple.

    2. this question is totally related to 3G. please do not tell me i posted it in the wrong place when you seem to have come to the wrong place and picking on people. if you have nothing constructive to say, then don't. this forum is for people to get answers, not negative comments.

** i came across this posting that talks about 3.0 Compatibility List For 3rd Party Apps

Your question was 'How stable is 3.0?'

If you want to find out which apps work with 3.0 i suggest you change the title.

You think I work for Apple? Just goes to prove how ignorant you are.

i am not any more ignorant than you to spend time criticizing others. you must have a lot free time on hand. have you considered doing some volunteer work to help your community?
