    Default How important is copy/paste?

With all the talk of copy/paste feature on 3.0, I'm thinking how important this feature actually is. It's now extremely easy to jailbreak a phone and install free 3rd party app to get the copy/paste feature. I'd rather see afull bluetooth stack, and maybe better memory management to run multiple apps like you can on the palm pre. Thoughts?

    Unlock, activation, jailbreak: PwnageTool 3.1

It was always like that. Apple went into implement features which were successful on the free side in their OS. The free scene, or what is left over of it is still a good test ground or better said resource for market research.

personally i would never use it much i mean i have that clippy thing from jailbreak and i just never use copy and paste ive no need for it.. if i want to use the web i use my lap top and when i use it on the iphone i just never need copy paste.. i dont know what examples people would actually use it, though im sure there is many..

iphone 3.0 needs everything the iphone currently has crippled working bluetooth video recording sound recording mms and the usual things a phone doesent cripple so they can make more money.. apple should give people less reason to jailbreak not more atm withotu jailbreak i would of taken my iphone back the very people that make them money apple condem them.. i bet withotu dev team apple would sell much less iphones i cant even have a theme withotu jailbreaking? i cant simply click and mp3 and use it as ringtone or sms tone? apple are so stupid they have such a good phone and they cripple everything.. if 3.0 still has nothing good im going to make a video microwave my iphone and get a good phone with everything not crippled like a nokia n96...

btw apple making statement what 3.0 will have on the 17th ? tomorrow, will be intrestng to see firstly why they skipping 2.3 and 2.4 because all 2.XX has been is bug fixes with the exeption of the app store update its been usless the 2.XX already then onto to 3.0? and when beta testers will get their hands on it.. i imagine it wont take long for the dev team to hack.

better memory manager sbsettings is very good for that but people shouldent have to jailbreak to get applications the iphone should already have its stupid... voiding the worranty and apple refusing to help with lame excuses. here hoping for 3.0 that it will have something good, a reason to not throw my iphone in the bin...

I use clippy copy and paste allot..

it's great for sending url's to SMS, twitter and other apps.. i can finally put together useful notes with sources (url's or quotes).. I can finally forward sms's inside the sms app.. i really use it allot and i did fine without copy and paste, but now i have it, i am dumbfounded this was not present in 1.0

I was always astounded that Copy/Paste was omited from the iPhone. It is extremely common to copy a URL or a piece of email from one place to another. Bizarre.

For most people who don't have a Jailbroken phone it must be the most important feature to add?

I can do without MMS or even bluetooth file transfer...

Copy & Paste would be extremely useful for me cause of the fact that Apple left out the possibility to

    1. Forward Text Messages to some else
    2. Send Contact Information (E.g. Phone number) via EMail or Text Message
    3. Check out Locations

    1) I am living as a foreigner in China and often enough I receive messages like this:
你好吗 (ok I can read that one - just an example)
I mean I want to forward that sometimes to a friend to get a translation. So Apple, how can I do that ?

    2) Often enough friends ask me for a Phone Number to send it to them.

    3) Friend sends me the following address: 四平路1233 or 陆家嘴西路 I wanna copy/paste that to maps and look where it is. I don't want to start maps and type that myself.

So with C&P my life would be extremly easier (would be still nice to forward Text Messages with the click of a button/ tap on a bubble)

Almost all smartphones in the market have C&P, so this is not a new feature, maybe the UI, but 2 years for it, it was too much...
