Default Help ! How to unlock my 3.0 iPhone

    Hey guys,

I'm an iPhone developer and I got iPhone OS 3.0 thanks to my iPhone Developer Account.

But my iPhone (1rst generation) is an unlocked one.

I tried by downgrading and unlocking to 2.0.2 and then updated to iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2.

But after updating, I've got a pink emergency screen and i'm unable to unlock it ?

Any ideas to unlock it ?

    I got a mac and a PC ...

    Thanks

If you are a developer and have been reading the how-to you should have first activated you iPhone at 2.2.1 with the legit simcard and then use the sdk to restore to beta 2. Activation then will be done in iTunes afterwards.

Whats that about downgrading and unlocking - are you on a legit plan?

That's weird, I didn't know they upgraded the 1st gen baseband on beta 2. They sure didn't do it with beta 1. All I can think of is that your baseband got upgraded, thus losing your unlock and your 1st gen was software unlocked, the illegal way.

The baseband didn't change at all between 2.x[.x] and 3.0 Beta 2, so the issues seems to stem from activation.

Since the OP is using a software unlocked 2G, the activation may not stick since he's not using it on the original carrier. He has the pink screen, meaning that the phone couldn't successfully activate with both the Apple servers (to match UUID to allowed list) and the model's carrier of origin (AT&T).

He might try the QuickPWN process released recently, especially if he still can receive calls and messages in the emergency screen (this would explain the phone's still unlocked, but not activated).

OP: do you still get a carrier on the top bar when your SIM is inserted, even with the pink emergency screen?

    Thanks for answering.
But I solved it by myself.
I had to first update to B1 before B2

    Question

    Hi Fredint0sh!

I'm in the same situation you were.
I tried to downgrade to 2.2.1, but received error #1604.

I tried to restore several times to newer fws and now my iphone is in fw 3.0 beta 4 released yesterday: nothing worked for me..

I've got one 1st generation device, unlocked by Quickpwn, with fw 3.0 beta 4 and pink screen with carrier information exactly as GenesisDH described: i can still make and receive phone calls, but i can't activate my phone.

I also have a developer account whose certificate expired a few days ago and was already renewed, but i couldnt update the provisioning profile into the device yet because of this pink screen.

    Would you help me?
Any ideas? Thanks a lot, guys!
