AFAIK the hardware on the original iPhone won't support A2DP, even if it does I'm sure it'll be a few months after the public release before there is any development on that.

In my tests on a 3G, A2DP works, but just barely. There's a lot of re-buffering. I'm not surprised but hope there is some improvment in a later beta.

I personally think A2DP is not important because listening to music on a stereo bluetooth headset can't be that good. It may be convenient though.
Say in the US, if you are driving, you cannot have both ears covered (by law) so you end up with a regular bluetooth ear piece. Listen to music that way is simply horrible.

I would much prefer to see native bluetooh file transfer over A2DP in 3.0 fw.

I agree, it's not a deal breaker feature. The quality is comparable to a 64kbps internet radio, and very tinny. But it is very convienent.

I guess it's handy if you can transmit from your phone to a bluetooth-enabled car stereo. Assuming the sound quality is decent (aka better than the 64k Internet radio quality)

    Default Bluetooth GPS

So any hope of being able to use a standard bluetooth GPS unit to send NMEA data to an iPhone or iPod Touch???

That would really open up the mapping / navigation market.

    Any ideas how to do??

I doubt Apple will allow this anytime soon, they would rather you traded in for a new iPhone 3G with GPS chip.

Well... as far as I know developers have access to the bluetooth accessories (standard and custom protocols)... therefore i don't see any technical obstical in developing a app which uses a bluetooth gps... but it's questionable if apple would accept such an application to the appstore..
