    Default 3.1 Custom ipsw

    Hello,

I have a PC running Vista and I cannot get my hands on a MAC to the a custom ipsw for the iPhone 3G. Since I depend on ultrasn0w to unblock my iPhone I cannot upgrade with the official ipsw.

Can someone post, or send me by PM a link to a custom 3.1 ipsw so that I can update my iPhone without upgrading the Baseband?

    Thanks in advance.

www.iphonefix.de has a lot of goodies...
although, I wrote an email asking the dude if his custom stuff has the 3.1 baseband or the 3.0/3.0.1 one....
he didnt answer as of yet, mainly because he lives in a different time frame

I did a DFU restore to that custom 3G 3.1 ipsw, and, iTunes 9 on Windows 7 gave me unknown error 1600 the iphone iphone could not be restored.
Has this also happened to you?

    MuscleNerd suggests the following solution:
a way past Windows 16xx errs is: stock 3.0, then redsn0w, then Shift-Restore to custom ipsw *without* dfu mode
    (Twitter / MuscleNerd: @JasonSpeciner a way past ...)

If a phone has already been pwned DFU is not required. If it hasn't then it is.

yeah, I also came to realise that 2 consecutive restores to jailbroken .ipsws with DFU mode result in 1600 error. So, if the first was with DFU mode (in my case, my 3.0.1 3G jailbroken .ipsw), the second has to be using normal shit restore from iTunes, keeping in mind that the update button in itunes only updates the thing and leaves a lot of leftovers.....
