There were easy times and hard times. Sometimes it can take days, sometimes months. That goes for both jailbreaking and unlocking.

Be patient. 3.0 beta is not an important version to be checked, so to not worry. What counts at the end is the ability to unlock the final version that will be released to the general public.

maybe the 3.0 jailbreak is not important for YOU...
But I must update my Cydia application!

has anyone got any news about that? I suppose the dev-team only has to release keys to decrypt and just a couple of other things to make the jb work...
and, since it uses an hardware flaw, it can't be stopped by apple in next betas, so...

while it cannot be stopped, it could always be made significantly harder, which is what Apple has done for 3.0.

    Exactly!

As stated time and time again, the older releases were essentially wide-open with the encryption key stored in the clear along with the image.

This time around, we aren't quite so fortunate.

There is absolutely *no* way that Apple can 'prevent' jailbreaking of your phone, as they allow loading custom applications. When you have access to upload your own executables that you can write yourself, anything goes.
