Default 3.0 Date and Time Problem

I apologize if this was already brought up but i have a problem with the automatic date and time function with the 3.0 firmware.
The "set date and time automatically" toggle is not there.
I re-installed the firmware 2 times and even used a different user on my mac so it would force it to re-download. Still didnt work.
I tried using a friends AT&T Sim and restarted my phone and the toggle came back. But as soon as i put my tmobile sim back in it went away again.
If anyone could look into this or has a similar problem please let me know. Its quite irritating. Thank you.

Didn't you ask this before? Double posting is frowned upon.

Regardless, tmobile doesn't currently provide OTA time sync to the iPhone. You can do it on tmobile branded phones, yes, but the iPhone doesn't support it.

Someone with much more technical knowledge than me on the topic answered your other post with more details. Replying from my iPhone or I'd link his post.

You need a TM carrier bundle, either use the one that best fits your data plan from Cydia or download the ipcc needed from the modmyi forums.

    Or make your own http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f127/78031.htm

i am a tmobile user, like most people who have unlocked phones here, i wouldn't mind installing an app that allows it to auto sync the time.

    1. what is the exact name of this tmobile bunlde in cydia? i found t-mobile us carrier i cydia but there is no information about this app whatsoever.
    2. how do i get the ipcc app from modmyi?

i explained the problem with automatic date & time here.

its not a very long thread so you should be able to read it quickly.
in short: at&t is one of only a handful mobile carriers worldwide which actually support this feature, although almost all modern cell phones do.

so it depends on the carrier youre using. according to wikipedia, t-mobile usa should support this feature too.
so you could build your own carrier bundle here, kudos to volkspost again!
using this generator NITZ is deactivated by default though, which means you would have to manually edit the file carrier.plist in your custom built carrier bundle.
look for the key SupportNITZ. change it from false to true. done!

Check the t-mobile sub-forum at modmyi. The first sticky post about carrier bundles should answer your questions.

phoeny, thanks for the info. this is what i did, please verify

    1. go to /private/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles/
    2. get carrier.plist
    3. change SupportNITZ key from false/ to true/

once i re-spring, how do i test if this works or not?

so no one knows how to test this without having to fly to another time zone. i am in PST.
