I'm thinking of purchasing a HP dv6-3042tx because of the amazing value right now (on sale for $1500 AUD), and I was wondering whether I would be able to dual-boot Windows and OSX 10.6.3 on it...

The specs are:

• i7-720QM
• 8 GB DDR3 (2 x 4096 MB)
• ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 Graphics with 1 GB dedicated
• Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN

I searched around and could not find anyone with a similar build, nor any articles on whether the ATI HD 5650 works with hackintosh.

Yes that should work with iBoot 2.0 Supported and MultiBeast 2.0. I have a Gateway NV5909H which is a bit of a step down cpu-wise but same vidcard.

I've gotten everything working on it minus the intergrated webcam I don't care about, and my ethernet port won't work without a special mac address script... the major downside is there's absolutely no kext's or anything for the ATI 5650, especially Mobility users like us.. so I'm stuck on 1024x768x32@60... I'm gonna attempt an ATI VBIOS hack to see if I can at least achieve native resolution.
