Default Trouble installing 10.6.3 on hp mini 1000

I had a working install of 10.5.7 running the mini, but I could never get the sleep function to work properly. I decide to try and install 10.6.3, but I can not find a good tutorial for this version. I have found a few for 10.6.0 - 10.6.2, so I tried using those to get it running. No luck so far. The first try I used netbootmaker 0.8.3 and the computer would not boot from the usb. I did a little research and decided to try using netbootmaker 0.8.4. Now I can get the computer to boot from the usb, but when the installer loads it tells me that it cannot be installed on this computer. I have been trying to figure this out without asking for help and now I am just stuck. Can anyone provide me with some guidance on this install?
