There are many methods for installation, but distro release is the easiest, most of the time.
S3 is SL, not Leopard as for your question. iPC and iDeneb are also popular Leopard's.

I'll leave the thinking part to you as I don't have time for that. There are other methods but would require a working OSX, and maybe some other distros. But it's up to you to try.
Also may need other boot options to start that S3 better. Would need to check the S3 installer to find out.
