Default Is there any chance?HP DV5

Hi. Ive been reading for some days and now im just very very confused

I think that my processor is compatible but i dont know about the rest, though' ive checked some compatibility lists and so on, but since its not still clear, im wondering for someone to help me.

So, i pretend to install it on my laptop, its a HP Pavilion DV5 1199es :

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 @ 2000 GHz
    RAM: 4GB
    Graphic Card: Nvidia 9600M GT
Wifi: Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100
    DVD Reader: Pioner DVDRW DR-TD08HB

Also I dont really know what version should i Try to install, if Snow Leopard or some older one.

I would really appreciate some help to confirm Im able to run it, also to know what version is more appropiated, or even telling me where can I get it.

    Thanks in advance!

Your CPU and video card are supported. It depends on what chipsets you have, particularly south bridge and SATA controller. If it's supported then most of the new releases should be ok.

Id say it has Intel PM45 Chipset. At least is all i found about the chipset on my laptop.

    Is it ok? Thanks!

So... i just have to download an official release, burn it and install? At the moment im not interested on dual-boot or whatever.

If you have to waste a DVD then let it be.
I wasted ton of it for different distros and download before got some that worked.

Beside, how do you know there are just files of some kBs? What utility/software do you use to read those files in there?

If you're not sure then download another one, maybe?

I already downloaded it 2 times. I explore the content of the iso with PowerIso, inside there are some bootXXX.xxx files, and a folder called [BOOT] or something like that, but its sizes are not even up to 50mb xD

Ill burn it anyway and give it a try!
