Actually i dont know whether it works on core i7 or not...but you can try it out so i and all other can know whether it is working or not..and hah second thing that for core i7 this version will not work i mean snow leopard 10.6;
try snow leopard universal 10.6.2 for it as it support core i7....so you can try it out...

no their is a direct installation for 10.6.2 so you dont need to update from 10.6 to 10.6.2.....you only have to direct install fresh mac on your laptop...the post for that is
