Just open up your com.apple.boot.plist file in your /extra folder with textedit and add in those boot flags. You should see
    <key>Kernel Flags</key>
    <string></string>
    ^put the kernel flags here...

Sorry that I've been gone from the scene for so long.

I downloaded Kile's driver pack, and followed the instructions, and just need some clarification on a few things and a few issues I have.

    1) After using pacifist to install 10.6.2 from pacifist, I can find the radeonx2000 kext, but can never find the ps2 one to delete.

    2) Can you please clarify how to install the "system" kexts, because you said to not drag and drop

    3) I am just using a USB stick to (try) to boot into the SL partition.

    4) I know how to create the mkext, but have no clue what to do with it

Now, this what I have done. I have installed Kalyway to a small parition, and have 80 gigs for sl. I installed snowosx (standard install) to my sl partition from kalyway. I downloaded the 10.6.2 update form apple.com and installed that using pacifist. During install i just pressed do not ask again during this install for each operation (pressing replace for files, and update, for applications) I deleted only atiradeonx2000.kext (couldn't locate other one). I install bluetooth package to sl partition, and ran bcm43xx script in kalyway. I just left the .mkext files inside the folders of the mkext they created. For ex. the /system/library/extensions mkext, i put inside the folder. When booting from a flash drive with chameleon installed, booting into the sl parition causes kernel panic. Kalyway boots fine using usb boot.

I may seem like a n00b in some questions, but answers will help.

Ok, so that post needs some revision.

First, when I started over I found the appleps2 kext to delete. Most of the method this time was the same EXCEPT, I just completely skipped creation of mkext files.

More info on how I installed snowosx: From the kalyway partition I insert the snowosx dvd. Then navigate to /system/installation/packages (on the CD) and run OSInstall. I had to do this because I could not boot into the disk.

When I boot there is a kernel panic. More info about this is that, the panic occurs when after I press, f12 to boot from my chameleon rc4 installed flash drive. After I press boot on the partition I installed snow leopard on. If I boot the kalyway partition the same way, there is no problem. It happens as soon as the grey apple logo is displayed. Verbose booting just causes it to stop at "System uptime in nanoseconds: 1308899439" a few lines above that it says "Mac OS version: Not yet set" is it possible that some critical boot file has not been installed properly. I have tried arch=x86, and that does not help.

One other thing, when Kile says to replace the boot file from the chameleon, osx did not let me because it says I do not have access.

    Sorry about the confusion

If it doesn't give you permission you need to chown the file and the file its in. An easier way though is to right or control click and select "get info". When you scroll down you'll see some options to change ownership. Change everyone to read AND write. Change it back later if you just want to be kosher. As for the KP I would have to ask if you're booting in 32 bit. If you boot in 64 bit hardly anything will work. Also, when you use the flash drive it will only use kexts in the /extra folder ON THE FLASHDRIVE. I would not suggest adding any SL kexts to this as you could easily render Kalyway unbootable. It still loads the same /system/library/extensions folder from the flash drive. You have to boot off of a chameleon install thats on your installed hard drive. I'm sorry I made the instructions long, boring and easy to skim over. The kext do just go in the system folder. It should boot if you have chameleon on your hard drive with all the goodies and built your mkexts. The mkexts go in the same folder as their corresponding extensions file. Example: the kexts for your extra folder go in /extra/extensions while its mkext goes in /extra. Also, I specifically said that you should not run the enabler script in kalyway. You're lucky it didn't kernel panic when you booted into kalyway the next time. Unless of course you changed the directory to the snow leopard one. Really, just wait until you get booted into snow to run the script. Its just safer that way. I hope this clarifies things. As boring as it may seem, you need to read the instructions and previous posts of mine as carefully as possible. I hope this clarifies things.

Oh, I think when I wrote those I meant dont just drag and drop the extensions folder into /System/Library. I was worried someone might do that and end up with an extensions folder with just the kexts I provided in it. Thinking about it now, that must sound rather confusing to most people. Just drag the individual kexts the the system/library/extensions folder. You probably already had the right idea and got confused by what I said.

Oh yeah, osx will also complain if you try to replace a hidden file like the boot file. Just delete the original boot file and put the new one in.

OK, so I'm on the east coast Kile so it is late for me to try now, because I need to sleep . But anyway, I will try that tomorrow, and report back with results. Thanks so much for the help to everyone on the thread, and especially you Kile, you've been especially helpful.

So (just like idol I guess) Results show tomorrow

Hey i just came another issue of mine, besides my video card still not working which everyone already knows... i'm noticing a time error when i switch between mac os and windows 7. they are both set for eastcoast timezone which is my timezone, but once i switch to mac it's 5 hours behind, and when i go back into windows 7 it's 5 hours ahead... not really understanding how this happens, i thought telling it a timezone would tell it what time it is

You might have to change the server that updates the time. I don't know why but the default windows one was always wrong. OS X was fine though. I'm on the east coast though. Is anyone else having problems with their studios toasting their headphones? I just got a new pair because the right side went out on my old ones. The same thing is starting to happen to these ones! The first ones I used in SL most of the time. I've only used these ones in windows and the right side is almost toasted! I think it might be a bios issue...
