I managed to get the atix2000 and 4500 kexts to load and detect my monitor, but everything is garbled. Its a step in the right direction to get quartz extreme working though. You just have to put
<key>IONameMatch</key>
<string>display</string>
in the right spot in the kexts and use the graphics enabler. I'm using chameleon rc4 so it should be the same as pc-efi. I've been playing with some other stuff in the .plists but its always garbled. I did turn on graphics enabler with the two kexts gone, so it would just load in vesa mode and interestingly enough atisupport.kext was loaded. The ati4500 kext points to this kext, but it was loading without it anyways. Also, in "About this Mac" Under PCI it was detecting my graphics card as "Momot" but had the correct vram value(512mb). I looked into it and the "Momot" if I remember correctly is code for one of the radeon 4800 series cards present in the mac pro. I wish I had a way to tell what kexts were really loading but thats impossible when you can't see your desktop. If we gather enough information we could make this work. If you find anything of interest please tell us. It would greatly appreciated. As for getting that dsdt to compile, I just hope its not too much of a mess. It might be easier if someone just extracts another dsdt, make sure it compiles good, and then insert the ssdt tables in the right place in the right order. With the ssdt tables we might even get not only speedstep, but turboboost working. I would be quite suprised if the snow leopard kernel didn't support it. Right now, everything is mostly functional, but we are taking HUGE performance hits without quartz extreme or turboboost working.

my big major problem now is my video card. i installed ideneb 1.6 lite which is 10.5.8 and i can't load into it normally because of my video card. i can however load into safe mode which i'm currently in, but still haven't come across ANYTHING about the ATI mobility radeon hd 4570 video card, and it's really friggin aggrivating haha. but if you come across any more information or a fix for it please let me know. i've tried the package that you put up too, but that didn't work. i also don't have any audio working, not sure if that's only in safe mode but i think it could also be linked to my video card issue. thanks for the help

If you looked earlier in the post you would see that I uploaded a driver pack with instructions on how to get snow leopard working. You should read this post from start to finish. That should answer any of your questions. If it doesn't, just tell me what you're having issues with. Just know that as of right now speedstep, sleep and quartz extreme aren't working. Also, if you don't wan't to do a complete repartition of your hard drive, you can boot into the installer disk, shrink your leopard partition with disk utility and use the plus sign on the bottom to add a new partition. I would suggest shrinking down your leopard partition alot, because snow leopard is more current, therefore more stuff will run on it. The only way I know of right now to install snow leopard on our machines is from a distro of leopard. The only one I got to boot off of dvd was kalyway. The reason the boot 132 method doesn't work for us is because only the 10.6.2 kernel support our processors. That and the sleep kernel for leopard, but other hacked kernels may work. Those are just the ones I know about. Its possible the hazard distro may boot off of dvd as its uses the 10.6.2 kernel. Hope this helps.

Oh, Im sorry. You did use my pack. Did you remove those two ati kexts in the instructions and change graphics enabler to "No" in your com.apple.boot.plist?

I should also say audio was dodgy for me. The only way I got it to work with everything is with an dsdt.aml that I extracted from ubuntu 9.10 with acpidump. That and voodoobattery made my sound work(in snow leopard). I tried some other dsdt patchers but they didn't do anything for me. The dsdt seems pretty good too. I didn't get any panic any when I remover disabler.kext and I've been quite stable since.

does QE not work only because we dont have an official kext or anything for the video card? i plan on staying with 10.5.8 as long as i can get everything working and i can stop having to boot into safe mode of course. pretty much only reason i need it is to run final cut pro 7 which requires 10.5.6 or higher. i wish someone came out with a kext or a fix for our vid card though, it's quite aggrivating granted that it seems ati provides more hassle for the people writing the files

so i just got rid of the one 2000x kext or whatever and i can finally boot in normal mode, but i just have to type "cpus=4 busratio=20" every time i want to boot into leopard at all. but removing that kext was the issue with my having to always load into safe mode. wish i could get the video card to work though, that's all thats left now. the audio was fixed once i booted into normal mode. any idea how i can fix it so i dont have to type the cpus=4 busratio=20 every time?

I tried to modify the plists of the stock kexts and use graphics enabler. I did get it do output to my monitor instead of having a black screen, but it was garbled. Its one step closer though. If you get snow leopard running could you do me a favor and try different dsdt extractors until you find one that makes your audio work when you use voodoohda? If you can find one that does that and readily compiles/decompiles without errors I could get vanilla speedstep and possibly turbo boost working.

I would need to add the ssdt tables to it.

I would just move on to snow leopard if I were you. I just have to boot into 32 bit mode with "arch=x86" under kernel flags in my com.apple.boot.plist. Just add the kernel flag you're using to your com.apple.boot.plist
