Yes, I see your point. If it is write locked then those command can not be executed.
After each line, it should return the bash prompt without reporting error.
Let me see if your other command version be of any help.

Quick question, when you finish the installation, and before the first reboot, did you perform permission repair for the whole OSX disk with disk utility?

Maybe this is what you can try if you haven't done so.
Put the DVD back in and proceed installation.

At the installer Screen, open disk utility and select your OSX partition/volume.
Select disk permission repair and wait for it to finish, then exit. Then just quit Installer. Eject DVD and reboot to single mode with -s
    Retry those commands.

Good luck and keep us posted.

OK it worked although i don't think your solution was it (repair permissions). see when i was reading several tuts it said for me to boot off the disc (press f8 and type -s) instead of (pressing a button for start up option and then pressing -s) so whenever i tried to do the commands i wasn't able to due to the disc being read only hence write locked. so when i read your post and you said for me to eject the disc that's when i figured it would work. OK so this is finally fixed and if anyone has any issues with this problem i am pretty sure this solution will fix it. i can confirm that this worked as i am now seeing the desktop and asking me log in. thank you very much for the help.

    You're welcome.

Glad to hear it works for you

That is called team work, and you should be proud of yourself. You're the hacker others just assist with suggestion, my friend.

Lol you're trying to write to a "dead" DVD for all that time. It happens to me too.

Thank you for coming back and post your successful story. Many just disappear without even a word.

Enjoy your OSX. You deserve it.

    Regards

I already wish you luck so here is something else for you to think about.

You will have 4 OS's fighting for one MBR, with 4 bootloaders to arrange into a boot chain. And one more, by the rule of MBR, there can only be 3 primary and one extended partitions. The number of required partitions for your setup will be a minimum of 6 partitions.

    Cheers

ok i got it to work. took me a while to set it up and several reinstalls. i used this guide here. Triple/Quad-Boot Your PC With Windows, Ubuntu, & Mac OSX | Windows 7 | Windows Tools, Help & Guides started of with windows xp then windows 7. after that i installed osx but got some got some boot0: error. tried this pressing enter after each cmd: boot with install disk and pressed "F8", Typed "diskutil list", Typed "fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0" <== use "rdisk" with your disk number here !!!, Typed "p" to verify which partition is for MacOSX (1, 2, 3, etc.), Typed "f 3" <== use your partition number here !!, Typed "write", Typed "y" (yes you are sure), Type "exit" (to quit). after this i was able to recover the Chameleon boot loader. last installed ubuntu in my last partition in ext 4 and mount / under advance partition to create. now this is real important! changed to install grub boot loader in ubuntu / partition. finished install and and whenever i boot ill boot Chameleon which will give me 4 OS choices. 2 windows ntfs, osx and linux. if i select linux it will launch grub loader where you can launch ubuntu. hope i wasn't to confusing and best of luck if anyone is to attempt this.

    Well done

So are you using Chameleon for bootloader, instead of Grub as the author suggest?

Thanks for the link, very informative.

    Cheers
