Default Still waiting for root device iAtkos S3

    Hi all,

I'm trying to install iAtkos S3 on my ASUS F5SL Notebook.

    Some technical specs:
    Motherboard Manufacturer: ASUS
Chipset: SIS671DX, SIS968, or SiS7001 (not sure which one exactly)
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
    Audio: Realtek ALC660 (AC97)
    LAN: SIS191
    WLAN: Atheros AR5007EG

It installed fine, but when I try to boot I get "Still waiting for root device". I checked and the disk is disk0, and the partition is disk0s0.

    I tried booting with:
    -v rd=disk0
    and
    -v rd=disk0s0

    and no luck with either.

    My IDE configuration is:
Primary Master - Not detected (this is the DVD drive which died a while ago)
    Primary Slave - Not detected
Third Master - Hard disk (could this be the problem? Does it need to be primary master?)
    Fourth Master - Not detected

Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Spec

OK I reinstalled and customised the installation by checking the SATA/IDE branch and now it boots, I'm actually replying to this topic from my hackintosh =D

It's been a bit crashy, and once even the screen went black in places and writing came down the screen saying something about a panic, I assumed this was one of these 'kernel panic's I've been hearing so much about, so I booted with cpus=1 busratio=20 and now it seems a bit more stable.

The keyboard and trackpad don't work, should I have installed the PS/2 drivers? Is there a way to add kexts after installation etc? Sorry to ask such noobish questions I'm totally new to hackintosh.

The other thing I noticed is the only screen resolution on offer is 1024x768, I'm guessing video support isn't great on hackintosh? If there's a way I can up the resolution to 1280x800 like I'm used to, let me know as it would be nice to have a little more screen space!

    Anywho, things looking up =)
    Cheers

Yes, you should install PS2 for your kb/mouse.
As for video, if you can get the correct kext installation then it should work.
If not then for temporary solution, you can set the resolution by using boot option or entry in boot.plist.

The only kexts for video on the installation where for VGA, but I installed the ATI one anyway. Where can I find more kexts, and how would I install them?

Also, is there somewhere I can find a crash log so I can work out why it crashes sometimes?

    Cheers =)
