Snow Leopard in Virtualbox?
Hello everyone,
Complete newbie here but I've been examining the possibility of installing OSX on my HP Pavilion DV5 1222tx for some time and just decided to jump right into the deep end.
Whether or not that was a good idea, I'm not sure but it's worth a try. wink
Roughly following this tutorial, I manage to get a virtual machine booting up with a Snow Leopard .iso by hazard (Snow_Leopard_client_Server_10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel _AMD_by_Hazard.iso) however when I press F8 and type -v nothing changes. I'm not sure if this is normal or not and it isn't the main problem I'm having. I've tried booting several times, sometimes pressing 'any key to start up from SL_CS_10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD', others pressing F8 and typing -v. After this I'm presented with a black screen and scrolling text until the point where it says 'BSD root: disk1s2, major 14, minor 3' and just hangs there indefinitely. Once or twice it's gone past there after successive resetting, only to say, 'Syncing disks... killing all processes' and proceeding to close the window. When I open it again the whole process starts from the beginning.
I have a feeling I'm doing something painfully obvious wrong, and if not then my lack of understanding on this topic is keeping me from researching solutions. Actually, I try to research solutions, but don't understand what I'm reading which really doesn't help.
So if anyone has experience running Snow Leopard in virtualbox on a Windows Vista (32-bit) host, please help me, it would be much appreciated. I'm ready to learn if you're ready to teach - baby steps.

Hi jessicaw, I am having exactly the same problem here. I'm about to think that the iso is corrupted...
