snow leopard retail install gets panic at startup
Hi,
I received an error when I was installing snow leopard. it said it was not able to install all of the files to the HD. I went on anyway, it has started up, but it crashes all the time, and at different points. When I mean crashing, i don't mean the error message in 50 different languages, this one has errors displayed with random codes on the entire screen.
Would it have something to do with the installing error, i cant seem to get around that error either.
I was able to get leopard working and still using it.
Also, I installed it on an existing hackintosh system but the DVD is the real retail disc.
This was the tutorial I was using : How to Install Snow Leopard (10A432) on PC Hackintosh | Snow Leopard
Thanks,
Josh

The same thing is happening here, but I followed a guide over at InsanelyMac. After a few failed attempts I finally managed to install SL successfully (no errors) but deselecting EVERYTHING except for the core upgrade files. I then installed several kext files that were said to be required to get SL working properly. Unfortunately I get a crash on boot.
Thankfully I partitioned the drive and backed up my system using Carbon Clone Copier (or whatever it's called) and attempted the upgrade there. I'm pretty confident it is a driver or the bootloader or something like that causing the problem. I just haven't been able to pinpoint the problem yet.

Nothings change,
kernel panic,
with chameleon 2.0 / chameleon 1.0
Looks like Asus p5k don't like snow leopard

I saw the same thing but finally got it to boot using either Netkas' PC_EFI v10.2 beta or the 'debug boot' file as seen on this post
