Now I´m trying to game on my Hackintosh.
Doom3 was a disaster, bad performance. MOH Spearhead was flying, but it should considering the age of the game.
Downloading Bioshock demo now, for the real test...
Is a hackintosh a bad performer gamewise due to drivers, or what?
:edit:
Tested Bioshock demo, same performance (or even better) than in Vista. Nice!

The Deletion of AppleHPET.kext also fixed my USB 12mb/s cap problem! I'm glad I checked back here. I also did a Kext Utility permission repair & a standard disk utility permission repair as well for good measure.
Thanx to MB94 & Settepotet for a great thread.
P.S. Not sure if I commented before but empire efi is already a good boot loader & chooser. Found my windows vista with pre boot loader (for certain reasons) like nothing. Didn't even have to refresh its list. Also for people going to do a dual boot I recommend a separate drive for windows, makes life just easier when HDD hell is upon you. Also temporarily make the drive your going to install windows on the main hdd in the bios boot list. Even if you do F8 to choose manually. Otherwise windows complains your not his #1 fan and won't install. :|
Oh well, after a week with Snow Leo this keeps getting back at me.
What makes this better than Windows 7? The answer?
Nothing.
OSX Snow Leopard is a great OS, no doubt about that. But it gives me no advantage above Windows 7. And in W7 I also get gaming, and the mkv encoding tools that don't exists in the OSX scene. It has been a fun ride and I've learned a lot, but I doubt that I'll ever use a OSX system as my main OS/computer. But I will keep fooling around, breaking kexts, formatting 100 times a week and f****g up my computer, as usual. This is what nerds do, I presume.
Thanks to MB94 for a great ride, I owe you one![]()
Every OS has pros and cons. Running OSX in a normal PC could be a great challenge and tuning up is part of the game.
So if you want a stable system with no worries about kexts or tuning well using a normal PC to run OSX is not the solution.
I can suggest you to try Ubuntu as alternative.
Personally I'm using OSX for free time (Internet Foto Video) I use Windows 7 for work.
But I can also say that With Asus P5W Dh Deluxe and Asus 9400GT 1 giga the system is really stable and everything works in the proper way.
Regards
The stability is top notch here, no problems after I solved the USB problem. But the OS itself can't provide me with anything that W7 can't.
But still, it's fun to play with![]()
