Kext Help and Firewire Solution?
Hi there I followed the Thread - great job thx!!!
I have the USB Problem and the Firewire Problem on my snow 10.6.3 with P5W DH Deluxe.
I downloaded all the imprortant Kexts to fix some problems.
VoodooHDA.kext.zip, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext.zip, WLAN_Realtek_RTL8187_MacOS10.5_Driver1315_UI1.5.7. zip
I know that I have to copy the Kexts in the Extension Folder. What is the next Step explain for Newbies please.
Somebody wrote: need to fix permissions and so on. Is there a tool do taht. What are the commands in the Terminal. Hmmmm
Did somebody solve the Firewire Problem with 10.6.3.? Please help!
Snow Leopard Hiccup
I found this thread and it has been great thank you for the information. However I do have a hiccup and I was wondering if anyone else has had it and a possible resolution?
My hardware is
P5w DH Deluxe (BIOS 2704)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2
4 GB Ram
Geforce 7300GT video
500GB SATA HD
I used this thread so I can install Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.3 using the MyHack Empire EFI Bootloader.
However the OS will freeze sometimes and I will have to do a hard power reset and then the OS will not boot nor the BIOS finding the hard drive just a flashing a cursor
Sometimes if I unplug the hard drive and reconnect it will boot, others it will not 50/50 shot.
So I am wondering if I have 1 of 3 problems or combination.
My BIOS is too old (2704), running in 64bit vs. 32bit and maybe a hardware issue.
(My BIOS settings came from the Lifehacker article)
This behavior has happened on 2 different hard drives. Any help would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.
I was in 10.6 then all was ok, I decided to update to 10.6.3 but USB gets very slow, then I rollback to 10.6 using time machine and now USBs works at nice speed but is like there is not enough power, for example to start an external HD.
Can anyone point me to the right place where I can download the Rebel EFI CD and other needed files to install a Retail DVD in my P5W DH Deluxe? (I tried some links to psystar.com but they are not working).
I currently have 10.6.0 installed and want to upgrade to at least 10.6.2.
Is there any other/better way to do it? My current install is working with Chameleon EFI.
P5W DH Deluxe
8400 GTS 512 RAM
BIOS settings are exactly like the ones at the beging of this thread.
i get this message when i try to boot the OS "this configuration is not supported by USL !!! "
SNOW 10.6.1 retail with P5W DH Deluxe Snow install pack - Beta 2.0
SNOW 10.6.3 retail with Empire EFI files
Both installs trow the same message on boot "this configuration is not supported by USL !!! "
The install was made on a different system (bad axe 2) from within SNOW Leopard (mount image > started OSInstall.mpkg> on finish postinstall package)
Is this message related with the installation method? because i have done this type of install on other systems (10.5.x) and it worked.
( changed&checked RAM/ processor / video card /hardrive on different hackintosh - all work)
i know for sure the the LAN 1 port is fried but i just disabled it from BIOS and it worked like that with iDeneb 10.5.6 for years.. till one day - kernel error.
i'm thinking the mobo is busted. but i was able to install and boot a 10.5.6 iPC on it though.
Did anyone experienced this kind of behavior ?
I figured it out ... this was so stupid. that hardrive i was installing on had something on the EFI partition that was trying to boot and was design for badaxe mobo only.

I have a P5W DH Deluxe, E6600, GeForce 9800GTX, 4 hard drives.

I then passed about 3hours wondering why I was having a new BSOD when booting back in Windows7. I found out that enabling AHCI after Windows is installed is not supported and cause this crash. Setting the option in the bios back to normal allowed me to boot again.
Now from what I understand here, I should use Rebel EFI instead for the installation and it will probably fix my crash. Problem is, Rebel EFI is 1. Not free and 2. Download link down because he shut things down.
From what I found out, both of these EFI are based on Chameleon 2.0 RCx. Which release was rebel using? Maybe I can download the empire using the same version and hope it works?!

Sorry for disturbing this nice Thread, I'm the guy who made the BIOS pictures linked on the first page of this thread and who started the p5w dh wiki and also the insanelymac thread "Asus p5w dh deluxe for 10.5x & 10.6x".
I'm a bit rusty and new here, "search this thread" did not show any results so my question might possibly already got an answered here...
Since I use snow leo (with chameleon and the post install stuff which you can find here Forum OSx86 po polsku :: Mac OS X na Asus P5W DH Deluxe - czyli idealny Hackintosh ) my eSATA seems to be broken. My external SATA Disk shows up but when I use it I'll get errors.
Is there a kext for the jmicron?
Hi guys, can anyone help me with the p5w-dh on Lion? Everything works perfectly except the sound. I've tried the VoodooHDA stuff in Multibeast but they either do nothing or they kernel panic.
Does anyone have some sound kexts they know work on 10.7.2?
Is there anything else I need to be doing to get the kexts I'm, trying to work? At the moment I'm just using multibeast or Kexthelper to install them.
