Exclamation snow leopard by Hazard freezes on VMWare Player when left unused

    Hi,
I have tried the following on VMWare Player and VirtualBox with same results:
    1. Installed Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Hazard on VMWare Player
    2. updated it to 10.6.4 using this article: Install and Update Snow Leopard Hazard 10.6.4 on VMware Player
    3. Installed EnsoniqAudioPCI.mpkg from "Darwin Snow"
    4. Installed xcode_3.2.4_and_ios_sdk_4.1

the above is installed on Windows 7 64 bit, note that i have used only 1 processor, I have checked some posts reported similar problems when 2 processors are used.

What happens is that if i leave the virtual machine intact for a while, it freezes ! knowing that the installation was very smooth.
I have tried the above many times with same result.
    any idea?

    thx.
    sam

    Default Freezing

    Sam,

This is happening to me as well running Windows 7 64-bit. I'm running on VirtualBox. After a period of idle time, the OSX virtual machine freezes and requires a restart. I was thinking that it had something to do with the screensaver activating on the OSX instance, but I disabled it and the freezing still happens.

Let us know if you find out.

I was having the same issue on my setup (OSX 10.6.6 inside VMWare Workstation 7.1.4 on Windows 7 SP1 x64) and I'm pretty sure it's because of the Energy Saver settings. I switched both "Computer sleep" and "Display sleep" to never and haven't had any freezing since then.

    Worth trying on your side!
