    Default Snow Leopard on 5101

    Hello,

I've seen charts that say that wifi has been enabled on 5101 but so far I've been unable to find any information on the matter. I've basically tried any 3rd-party tidbits and tricks to activate nic and wifi, but so far no go for both.

I got pretty much everything else covered and running I'm 100% vanilla 10.6.2 with Chameleon 2 RC4 (efi) and mach_kernel_tea.

Any idea what do work out with the wifi? I've fixed the IO80211family.kext:s innards (AppleAirportBrcm4322...kext) to IOMatch "Bcm4322" but still no go. What comes to nic, I'm loading appleYukon and appleYukon2 -kexts but no luck with those.

Also sleep is a bit flakey and bluetooth is on or off time to times, so let me know if you got suggestions.

Default Some idea to wlan/wifi -problem 5101 (brcm 4322)

With DPCIManager I can found both wlan and ethernet-devices. The wlan is 14e4:4353. If you edit this direcly to AppleAirportBrcm43224.kexts info.plist (in the IOMatchName) -section, it SHOULD do the trick. For some reason it just doesn't work - I'm thinking about taping the famous pin20 (tried that, but didn't know the correct IOMatch for the card then).

So, that could be one solution. Then to Eth:
DPCIManager gives the Marvell adress: 11ab:436c. We know it's 88E8072 -device. So basically we should just add it to the AppleYukon2.kext's info.plist, we should have a go.

However, in this case info.plist is bit complicated and requires the <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> to be the correct one.
I've tried to locate some keys but so far no info on the 88E8072 key. For other models there's plenty of key information available.

My main goal is to get the wifi running and I'm thinking that the culprit is the switch and betting on the taping. I'll let you know what happens (if happens.). I think I'm closing in, though.
