Snow Leopard 10.6.3
Hey everyone,
I have a blank hard drive and want to install 10.6.3. I bought the retail version of the OS and am having a real tough time getting it to install. I DO NOT have an existing mac OS on this drive.
This is what I am doing...
Booting with Empire EFI disk;
Getting these prompts...
disk0s3: I/O error
SAM multimedia: read or write failed, sense_key=0x03, ASC=0x10, ASCQ=0x90
after several lines of this the screen will end in this meesage...
System uptime in Nanoseconds: ?????
After that the screen will stay like that, MAC os installation screen never comes on...
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
This is taking over my life!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
My Mobo is a gigabyte x48 ds4
My video card is a ati 4850

I'm not sure, but that sounds like a bad cd

I have tried a bunch of different .iso's, they burn correctly... do you think it may be the actual dvd drive??
-
-
have you tried a boot 132 disc?
-
No, I will have to try that... Just boot from DVD, once I get to the menu replace it with my retail mac OS disk and hit enter??

No, I believe you hit f5. Google it though and you should figure it out. I am not installing from a cd, I have an install of Leopard, so I am doing it from there so I can't really help.
-
Ok, cause when I hit f5 nothing happens, but I will try to google it and see what I can find, thanks
