Hello... New to the world of Hackingtosh. I just loaded snow leopard on a Dell 10v, and it worked beautifully until I did a software update this AM. Now, the boot process gets hung up w/ the gray apple screen and pinwheel.

I turned on verbose mode and the last line I see is :

Sound Assertion "0 == pathMap_aDriverInstance" failed "/sourcecache/AppleHDA=179.1.4/applehda/applehdadriver.cpp" at line 1656 goto exit

I get about 4 similar lines and then that's where the boot process stops. I cannot get to safe mode because the safe mode boot process ends at a line that says something like Airport: RSN handshake complete at eth1.

I've searched all over this forum, but no luck. Can someone help me?
