My machine does not stay on for more then a few minutes then a grey screen comes on asking to restart my machine (you need to restart your computer.Hold down the button...bla bla

You would need to elaborate further as how your problems have happened.
People here don't sit in front of your computer and can't read your mind either.
Maybe your machine like to restart instead?
